Response to Point, Shoot, Retouch and Label?

I think that it is okay for a photo to be changed in some way, but how you do it and if you tell people or not has to be changed. You should not be sending out the message that you should be who you are when the photo is retouched in some way. I know that anorexia is a problem for some people, but because some people might become anorexic because of the photos, that does not mean that everyone who views the photos is going to become anorexic. At least tell the viewers of the photos that they have been retouched, but do not let it affect how you make your art.I think that labeling should only be used when it is a case of extreme changing, not just making her eyes bluer or making his face look paler or darker so that it you can enhance your art and not make it so that everything has to be captioned. I think that magazines or stores that over retouch their photos will have a hard time with this and people will start to realize that they really are fake, but the magazines and stores that advertise with only a little retouching will have no problem.

The author of a photo is the one who plans how to take it. The photographer plans how they take the photo and what the model has to do. The model is a benign player in how the photo is taken because thew model changes, not the way the photo is taken. The retoucher is not the author of the photo because they are not the person taking the photo, nor the person saying how the photo is to be taken. Their job is to make the photo better, but the photographer is the person that gives the retoucher the photo to work with. So the author of any photograph is the person that either writes the "script" for the photo , or the person who does both the "script" and the photo-taking.
